Even after judicial victory, assistant teachers are wandering, appealed to Deputy CM Saw, said – appointment should be reinstated soon
Despite a judicial victory, assistant teachers remain in limbo, awaiting reappointment. They have appealed to Deputy CM Saw, urging immediate action to reinstate their positions and end their prolonged struggle.
Raipur. Disobeying the court order or ignoring the court order has now become a common thing in Chhattisgarh. It has been seen earlier in SI recruitment exam, D.ed -B.ed recruitment dispute that how the state government has been backing out from following the court's instructions on time. One such case is the appointment of teachers by the urban administration, in which assistant teachers were fired from the job without any reason. Now even after getting judicial victory, teachers are wandering from door to door for their reinstatement, because the government is being negligent in following the court order.
In fact, assistant teachers from various districts across the state had reached to meet Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration Minister Arun Saw. These teachers were appointed in corporation schools in 2014 under the complete process, who were fired without reason within just 50 days. Even after the decision in their favor from the High Court and Supreme Court, they are unemployed today. After meeting Saw, everyone has demanded his appointment as per the decision given by the Supreme Court on 15 April 2025.
The petition was filed in the High Court, in which the single bench order, while hearing, issued an appointment order in favor of the petitioners on 16/04/2019.
The state government then filed a petition in the double bench of the High Court. In the hearing on 2/03/2022, the court directed for re-appointment.
Dissatisfied with the decision of the High Court, the state government filed a petition in the Supreme Court, in which, while hearing on 15/04/2025, the Supreme Court ordered that all the appointed teachers should be reinstated in the job.
In fact, when the advertisement was issued, the appointment of teachers in the schools of Nagar Nigam, Palika and Panchayats was done under the Urban Administration Department, but in the year 2019, the rules were changed. All the schools were handed over to the Education Department. The petition filed in the court was against the removal of the selected teachers from their jobs under the advertisement issued by the corporation administration. Now 45 teachers are stuck between these two departments in such a way that even the court order seems incapable of getting it. After BJP's Raman government, Bhupesh Baghel's Congress government, now these teachers do not seem to be getting justice even in BJP's Sayy government. With a hope, these assistant teachers from many districts of the state including Dhamtari, Balodabazar and Gariaband reached Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw with a memorandum, where they requested that their appointment be restored as per the order of the Supreme Court.
Deprived of our rights even after fighting a judicial battle
Gavendra Kumar Sahu, who came to meet Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, said, 98 posts were released in 2013, in which 43-45 people were selected, but we were fired without giving any reason and notice. Even after fighting a judicial battle for such a long time, we are being deprived of our rights, so we are demanding the government to give us appointment as soon as possible as p
