Ex-Councillor Accused of Beating Young Man in Bilaspur; Marriage Scheduled in a Month

A serious incident has come to light in Bilaspur, where former councillor Purnanand Chandra is accused of assaulting a young man, Siddharth Pandey. The incident took place on the night of October 8 in the Sarkanda police station area. Reports suggest that the dispute between the accused and the deceased was related to money and land transactions.
After the altercation, Siddharth Pandey went to the police station to lodge a complaint, but the police reportedly returned him without recording it. While returning home, Siddharth suddenly experienced chest pain and passed away on the way. The post-mortem report indicates that the death may have been due to a heart attack.
Family members allege that the long-standing disputes and previous assaults involving the ex-councillor contributed to the circumstances of Siddharth’s death. They have demanded a thorough investigation by the police.
According to reports, Siddharth Pandey’s wedding was scheduled just a month away, and he was busy with preparations and financial arrangements at his home. His sudden death has plunged the family into mourning.
Police officials stated that preliminary investigations revealed no visible external injuries on the body, and the body was handed over to the family only after the post-mortem. The matter remains under investigation
