Fire Breaks Out at Scrap Shop in Bhilai, Quickly Controlled by Firefighters
Digital Desk
A sudden fire broke out early Monday morning at a scrap shop in the Bhilai-3 area. Around 5:30 a.m., local residents noticed smoke rising from the shop and immediately informed the fire department. The firefighting team reached the spot and, after considerable effort, managed to bring the flames under control. However, scrap materials and other goods worth several lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes.
Fire Officer Nagendra Kumar Singh stated that the blaze was so intense that firefighters had to enter the shop to extinguish it from within. He added that if the team hadn’t arrived on time, the fire could have spread to nearby shops and houses, leading to a major disaster.
Major Loss Prevented, No Casualties Reported
Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties. The fire was contained within the scrap shop itself, though the financial loss is said to be significant.
Police Investigating the Incident
After receiving information about the fire, the local police arrived at the scene and began their investigation. The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined, but initial reports suggest that it might have been triggered by a short circuit or an external spark. A single fire engine managed to completely douse the flames.
