Raipur, CG
Finance Minister OP Chaudhary took a tough stand on corruption in the GST department, stating that if any officer demands a bribe, inform him directly. He assured that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) will arrest the corrupt officer red-handed.
Finance Minister OP Chaudhary has given a big statement regarding corruption in GST. He said that there should be any matter related to GST. If the officer is asking for money for himself, then if you give me information through any medium, then I will get him arrested red handed by ACB.
Finance Minister OP Chaudhary had come to Kandhkot Bhawan in Priyadarshini Nagar to listen to the 123rd broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat'. During this, a large number of BJP leaders, workers and common people were present.
The Finance Minister said on this occasion that if there is a mistake of 10, 20, 30 percent of GST, then the department is ready to close its eyes, but if there is theft of 10 to 20 lakhs, then his mistake will not be forgiven. If someone sees his benefit by putting fake bill, then he will not be forgiven.
Two officers were arrested by CBI
Let us tell you that with the increase in business in the state, complaints of arbitrary behavior of GST officers have also become common. On one such complaint, on January 31, the first month of the year, CBI arrested two officers of Central GST - Superintendent Bharat Singh and Vinay Rai red handed while taking bribe from a businessman.
There is a lot of fear about GST among the businessmen of the state. Businessmen say that the officers start harassing them for small mistakes and start scaring them with big action. Instead of getting into the hassle of court, businessmen consider it better to settle the matter by giving and taking. Due to having the weak point of businessmen in their grasp, GST officers also start acting arbitrarily.
