From November 27, One-Way Traffic Between Shastri Chowk and Jaystambh

The construction of the skywalk in Raipur is set to resume, and with it, the district administration has announced major temporary changes in the city’s traffic flow. Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh has issued an order implementing a one-way system on two key routes around Shastri Chowk starting November 27. The arrangement will remain in place for an entire month.

Under the new plan, traffic will move one-way from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. For the first 15 days, vehicles will be allowed to move one-way from Shastri Chowk through the multilevel parking stretch toward Jaystambh Chowk. In the following 15 days, the one-way will shift to the route from Shastri Chowk toward. This means residents will need to follow different routes during each phase of the month-long traffic adjustment.

Reflective barricades to be installed

To minimize inconvenience caused by the changes, the administration has planned several measures. Reflective barricades will be placed at entry and exit points of the closed routes to ensure visibility at night. Additionally, trained guards will be deployed to guide vehicles and maintain smooth movement. Information boards marking the start and end of the one-way stretches will also be installed, helping commuters plan their routes in advance.

Appeal for cooperation

The Collector has urged citizens to adhere to the temporary traffic arrangements, stressing that public cooperation is essential to complete the skywalk construction safely and without disruption.
