GST Raids Gutkha Factory in an Investigation Underway

State GST officials carried out raids at an illegal gutkha manufacturing facility in Chattisgarh—seizing large quantities of raw materials, packaging, and production equipment. The operation is part of a broader crackdown on GST evasion in tobacco-related industries. Authorities are now analyzing documents and stockpiles to assess the extent of tax fraud and are preparing to lodge an FIR.
State GST action is going on continuously in Chhattisgarh. Late night, the State GST team raided a Sitar Gutkha factory. A large quantity of Sitar Gutkha making materials were found in this factory. According to the information, this factory is located in Joratarai near Jalbandha Road between Rajnandgaon and Durg and Ganiyari near Anjora, where the team's investigation is still going on. This action was taken by the State GST team on the instructions of Commissioner Pushpendra Meena after receiving a complaint of making and selling illegal gutkha in the state.
Tax of Rs. 2.5 crore recovered in raids at 17 dealers
Let us tell you that for the last two days, GST action was seen in the textile and furniture sector, while on Wednesday, the GST team simultaneously took action in the footwear sector in 6 districts of Chhattisgarh. The GST team simultaneously raided Raipur, Durg, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, Bilaspur, Korba. The team raided 17 dealers. In this action, GST tax of Rs. 2.5 crore has been recovered from the traders. Sources in the GST department say that the intelligence team had received information that traders in the footwear sector had not paid taxes. This is the reason why the team conducted raids in this sector.
