HC rejects petition of contractor in journalist Mukesh murder case

The High Court dismissed the plea of a contractor accused in journalist Mukesh’s murder, who had challenged the cancellation of his contract worth crores.

Contractor Suresh Chandrakar, accused in the murder case of Bijapur's famous journalist Mukesh Chandrakar, had filed a petition in the High Court against the cancellation of the road contract worth crores, which has been rejected by the High Court.

The division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Kumar Sinha, while hearing the case, has refused to intervene in the matter.

Accused contractor Suresh Chandrakar, in the petition filed through his advocate, has termed the seizure of security fund of Rs 37 lakh and imposition of 10% penalty as unfair. The contractor had filed a petition in the High Court through his lawyer demanding completion of his incomplete road construction work worth Rs 2.58 crore.

Let us tell you that while hearing the petition filed on the dispute related to the construction work of Nelsnar-Fodoli-Miratur-Ganglur road, the High Court said that this matter is related to the contract. According to clause 28 of the agreement, the dispute will be settled through arbitration. The Court refused to directly intervene in the matter and dismissed the petition, allowing the petitioner to resort to remedies available under the contract or other legal recourse.
