The court has reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of all the parties.
After the report of the then Chief Secretary in the case, the division bench had directed a CBI inquiry into the scam in view of the seriousness of the case. On the instructions of the High Court, CBI Jabalpur had registered a crime against unknown persons and started investigating the case. Meanwhile, IAS and State Service Cadre officials accused of the scam had filed SLP in the Supreme Court demanding a stay on the CBI investigation. Let us tell you that Kundan Singh Thakur, a resident of Kushalpur in Raipur, filed a PIL accusing some present and retired IAS officers of Chhattisgarh of scamming crores in the name of NGO. In which it was told that the petitioner himself first got the information about being paid salary by claiming to be working in a government hospital Rajya Srot Nishakt Jan Sansthan. After this, when he sought information under RTI, it was found that this alleged hospital located in Naya Raipur is being run by an NGO. In which machines worth crores have been purchased. It was also said that crores of rupees are spent in their maintenance.
A petition was filed in this case in 2017. In 2018, its hearing was started as a PIL. During the hearing, it was found that there is no institution named Rajya Srot Nishakt Jan Sansthan. The institution was formed only on paper.
