HC takes suo motu action over Anganwadi accident, seeks report

The High Court took suo motu cognizance of an accident at an Anganwadi premises and directed the collector to submit a detailed report. The Chief Justice questioned the presence of DJ equipment, asking if dancing and singing activities were being conducted there.
The High Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the school campus accident in Talapara, Bilaspur. The division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice B.D. Guru raised sharp questions, calling the death of a three-year-old girl a very serious matter. The angry Chief Justice said - why was DJ equipment kept in the Anganwadi premises, is there dancing and singing there. On this, the government told that a relative of an Anganwadi employee is a DJ operator and his equipment was kept there. The Chief Justice expressed displeasure over this answer and said that the innocent has died, this is a very unfortunate incident.
The court has sought a detailed report by seeking a personal reply from the Bilaspur Collector. It has also been asked what compensation and assistance has been given to the victim's family so far. The court clearly said that if we come to notice, we will not spare anyone. The next hearing of the case will be on August 26.
Let us tell you that on the morning of August 14, 3-year-old Muskan Mahilange was playing with children around the Anganwadi built in the Talapara Ghoradana school premises. Then suddenly one of the iron pipes which was carelessly kept on the wall by DJ operator Rohit Devangan fell and hit his head. Due to serious injuries, he was referred to the district hospital and then to SIMS, where he died during treatment. In the police investigation, negligence has been stated as the cause of the accident. Police have registered a case against accused DJ operator Rohit Devangan and his associates under section 106, 3(5) of BNS. Rohit is the grandson of the school watchman and used to keep the goods inside the premises.
