Labour Court Cases Filed Against Six Raigarh Industries for Safety Violations

Inspections across several industrial units in Chhattisgarh’s Raigarh district have uncovered significant violations of safety and statutory norms, prompting penalties for seven units and the filing of Labour Court cases against six major industries.
Following repeated incidents at local factories, the Industrial Health and Safety Department initiated a detailed inspection drive last month. The inquiry revealed multiple breaches of the Factories Act at MSP Steel Plant, Jindal Plant and Ind Synergy, resulting in formal complaints being lodged.
Officials reported that Jindal Power Limited in Tamnar has been booked under Sections 79 and 52 of the Factories Act, 1948.
Action Against MSP Steel and Jindal Units
M/s Jindal Steel and Power Limited’s 1 MPA Slag Grinding Unit faces cases under Sections 59, 54, 56, 79, 52 and 41(B) of the Factories Act.
M/s MSP Steel and Power Limited in Jamgaon has been charged under Section 41 read with Rule 73(G) and Rule 73(1).
M/s Nalwa Special Steel Limited, Tareimal, has been booked under Section 41 read with Rule 73(G) and Rule 73(1), while M/s NRVS Steels Limited, Tareimal, faces charges under Section 7A(2)(A) and Section 41 read with Rule 73(1).
Ind Synergy Also Booked
Cases have also been filed against M/s Ind Synergy Limited, Kotra Mar, and M/s AG Construction under Section 40 of the Building and Other Construction Workers Act, 1996. Inspectors cited violations of multiple provisions of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Rules, 2008, including Rules 42(7), 42(5), 54 and 178.
All the cases have now been placed before the Labour Court, highlighting widespread non-compliance and recurring safety shortcomings across the district’s industrial establishments.
