A leopard hunted and killed a calf near the outskirts of a village, triggering fear and tension among residents. Forest officials have been alerted and efforts are underway to track the wild animal.
A leopard that reached the village of Pangri near Ambagarh Chowki has hunted a calf. However, after this the leopard has moved towards the nearby forest without causing any further damage. After this incident, an atmosphere of panic has been created in the nearby village.
The incident is being reported on Wednesday night. Forest department officials have confirmed the hunting of the calf by the leopard. Officials say that the forest department team is continuously visiting the nearby villages and making people aware.
Public announcements are also being made in the villages through the Kotwar. People have been prohibited from going towards the forest alone. At the same time, it is being advised to leave the house only if it is very necessary after evening.
