Major Breakthrough in Naxal Operations: 18 Naxalites, Including 4 Hardcore Members, Surrender

In a significant achievement in the fight against Naxalism, 18 Naxalites, including 4 hardcore members, have surrendered to authorities. The group had a combined reward of ₹39 lakhs on their heads. This surrender marks a major step toward peace and security in the region. Authorities view this as a positive outcome of their sustained efforts and development initiatives in Naxal-affected areas.

The anti-Naxal operation in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh has got a big success. A total of 18 Naxalites including 4 hardcore Naxalites associated with South Bastar Division and PLGA Battalion No. 01 have decided to surrender and return to the mainstream. A total reward of Rs 39 lakh was announced on all the surrendered Naxalites.

This campaign has been carried out under the “Naxal Member Free Gram Panchayat Scheme” and “Naxal Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy” of the Chhattisgarh Government. According to the scheme, every Gram Panchayat declared free from Naxalites is provided a development fund of Rs 1 crore. Influenced by these efforts, many Naxalites are coming forward to join the mainstream of the society.

Let us tell you that in this process of surrender of such a large number of Naxalites, the District Force, DRG Sukma, VIASHA Sukma, Range Field Team (RFT) Konta, Sukma, Jagdalpur, and the intelligence units of CRPF's 80th, 212th, 219th and COBRA 203rd Battalion played an important role.

On this occasion, Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chauhan has appealed to the remaining Naxalites to give up the path of violence and surrender and take advantage of the government's rehabilitation schemes.

Police officials say that Naxalite organizations are getting weakened due to the continuous establishment of new security camps in Naxal-affected areas and the strong presence of the administration, and this surrender is the result of this.
