Major Success for Security Forces: 16 Naxalites Surrender in Sukma, Two Carried ₹8 Lakh Bounty Each

In a significant breakthrough in the anti-Naxal operations, 16 Naxalites, including two hardcore PLGA members, surrendered before police and CRPF officials in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday. A cumulative bounty of ₹25 lakh had been declared on all the surrendered Naxals.

Among the prominent names are female Naxalite Rita alias Jodi Sukki and youth Rahul Jumne, both carrying a bounty of ₹8 lakh each. In addition, Lekam Lakhma had a reward of ₹3 lakh, while three others had rewards of ₹2 lakh each.

The surrendered Naxalites stated that they were inspired by the Chhattisgarh government’s “Niyad Nella Naar Yojana” and the “Naxal Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025”, prompting them to return to the mainstream. Each surrendered Naxalite will receive an incentive of ₹50,000 along with benefits under the rehabilitation scheme.

The surrender event was attended by Bastar SP Kiran Chavan, ASP Umesh Gupta, CRPF officials, and senior district police officers. Officials said the surrendered Naxalites are now eager to live a normal life and reintegrate into society.
