Man Kills Wife, Then Dies by Suicide in Raipur: Leaves Note Saying He Couldn't Live Without His Family

In a shocking incident in Raipur on Tuesday, a man allegedly murdered his wife and later died by suicide by jumping in front of a train. The woman’s body was found on a sofa inside their rented house, while the man’s body was recovered from a railway track in the Labhandi area. The couple originally belonged to Bihar. The exact motive behind the murder is still unknown.

The incident took place in the Khamhardih police station area. Police identified the deceased husband as Rajendra Gupta, a welder by profession who lived with his family in Chandi Nagar. His wife has been identified as Rekha Gupta.

A suicide note was recovered from Rajendra, in which he wrote:
“I cannot live without my wife and children, so I am ending my life.”

Murder at Home, Suicide on Railway Tracks

According to the police investigation, Rajendra first killed his wife at home—her body was found lying on the sofa. After committing the murder, he travelled to the Labhandi railway tracks, where he jumped in front of an approaching train.

Upon receiving the information, Civil Lines CSP Ramakant Sahu, along with teams from Telibandha and Khamhardih police stations, reached the spot.

In the suicide note, Rajendra mentioned his deep love for his wife and children and stated that he could not imagine living without them. He also requested his family members to take care of his two children. Police have sent both bodies for post-mortem and have begun further investigation.

Similar Incident in Bilaspur Last Month

A similar case was reported on 25 November in Bilaspur, where both husband and wife were found dead inside their house in the Sarkanda area. The wife was lying dead on the bed, while the husband was found hanging from a ceiling fan.

The room’s wall had messages written in lipstick, containing the name Rajesh Vishwas, suggesting the husband suspected his wife’s character. The note claimed, “We are dying because of Rajesh Vishwas… She was caught talking on her mother’s phone. She used to talk when I wasn’t home.”

Police said that the deceased woman, Neha alias Shivani Tambe, had married Raj Tambe 10 years ago in a love marriage. The couple had three children and often fought due to the husband’s suspicions.
