A man impersonating a crime branch officer fraudulently obtained fuel worth Rs 55 lakh from various petrol pumps. He used his false identity to gain trust and issued a cheque for payment, which later bounced. Police have launched a search operation to apprehend the accused.

A big case of fraud has come up in the judicial capital. The accused, posing as a crime branch officer, handed over a check of Rs 55 lakh to the petrol pump operator, which later bounced. After receiving the complaint of the case, the Civil Line Police has started investigation.
According to the information, the accused Rajendra alias Abhiraj Singh got fuel filled from Jio Petrol Pump located at Jarhabhata Chowk from November 2024 to March 2025.
After this, the accused youth handed over a check in the name of payment, which bounced.
After receiving the complaint of the case, the Civil Line Police has started investigation.
