Missing Fisherman’s Body Found After 36 Hours

The body of a fisherman who went missing while laying a fishing net was found floating after 36 hours; he is believed to have drowned during the work.

Balod. After a rescue operation of 36 hours, the body of the missing fisherman Soman Nishad was found floating. Actually, all the fishermen had gone to Tandula Dam to catch fish on Thursday. Soman was also laying the net, when suddenly the weather changed. Due to strong storm, the boat overturned in the dam and the fisherman died by drowning in the water.

The incident is of Balod police station area. Village Borid Soman Nishad (48 years) had gone to Tandula Dam to catch fish on Thursday like every day, but after strong winds and bad weather, he did not return. While other fishermen returned home. When the local villagers found his boat and fishing net in an abandoned condition on the shore, they immediately informed the police. A team of divers was continuously engaged in the search. This morning, the body found floating in the dam was sent out for post-mortem by the SDRF.
