Mitanins Stop on Way to Raipur, Block NH in Protest
Gariyaband,C.G
Police stopped Mitanins heading to Raipur for the movement, after which they blocked the highway. Union President Sengar accused the government of atrocities on women, while the Health Minister said their demands cannot be accepted.
Chhattisgarh's State Health Mitanin Sangh and Trainer Welfare Association (MITANIN STRIKE) is on a statewide strike today. They are on indefinite strike and dharna since August 7 demanding fulfillment of the promises of the 2023 election manifesto under the 'guarantee' of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and stopping the NGO contract system and today they have left for Raipur from different districts with the plan to surround the CM residence in the capital, but the administrative teams are not allowing them to reach. Angry at being stopped in Gariaband, the Mitanins blocked National Highway 130, due to which the traffic has come to a standstill. Similar pictures are coming from almost all the districts.
Let us tell you, 72 thousand Mitanins, 3250 Mitanin Trainers, 280 Help Desk Facilitators and 292 Block Coordinators are involved in this movement of Mitanin Sangh. The union has 3 point demands:
End of NGO contract system on NHM approved posts.
All Mitanin Program workers should be merged in National Health Mission (NHM), 50% increase in salary, Mitanin Sangh President Saroj Sengar said that the government is oppressing the Mitanins. We are on strike from the 3rd and were going to reach Raipur from all over the state today and surround the Chief Minister's residence. But the administration teams have stopped the Mitanins in all the districts since last night. The vehicles in which we left for the capital are being stopped at various places and challans are being issued. There is resentment in the Mitanin Sangh about this oppressive attitude of the government. Saroj Sengar said that one of the two-point demands is under consideration. Questions are being raised on closing NGOs and contract system. In the BJP's manifesto, there was talk of merger of Mitanin Program employees. But today they are being stopped from going to Raipur and putting forward their demands, which is an attempt to weaken the movement. They say that they will stay on the road until their voice reaches the capital.
On the other hand, regarding the strike of Mitanin Sangh, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that the demands of Mitanin Sangh are not many. Mitanins have 2 demands. One demand cannot be fulfilled. But 50% increase has been announced in the government's manifesto, we will fulfill that.
