Naxal Couple with ₹2 Lakh Bounty Each Surrenders

A Naxal couple, each carrying a reward of ₹2 lakh on their heads, surrendered to security forces, marking a significant step in ongoing anti-Naxal operations.

The strict action of the security forces and the new and better rehabilitation policy are making many Naxalites take the path of surrender. In this episode, Naxalite Ramesh alias Atam Guddu and his wife Savita alias Lacchi Poyam, who had a reward of Rs 5 lakh each, have surrendered before the Kabirdham police.

29-year-old Ramesh was an active member of Platoon No. 01, MMC Zone, GRB Division Committee, while his wife Savita, 21, was working in the Tanda Area Committee. Both were involved in Naxalite activities in the MMC area for the last 8 years.

Ramesh was also injured during an encounter in Bakoda forest of Thana Bhoramdev area in the year 2019. While in the organization, Ramesh had a 12 bore gun and Savita had an 8 mm rifle. After surrender, both will be given all facilities under the government's rehabilitation policy.
