Talking to Lalluram.com on the ongoing Naxal operation in Abujhmad, Home Minister Vijay Sharma said that a big operation is going on in Narayanpur, Bijapur, Dantewada border areas. The operation has been carried out on the basis of input received by the security forces.
The soldiers have achieved great success in this. So far 26 Naxalites have been reported killed. At the same time, commanders bigger than Rupesh are trapped in this operation. The operation is still going on. Along with this, the Home Minister has also informed that one soldier was martyred and one soldier was injured in the encounter.
Earlier, the biggest anti-Naxal operation was carried out on the Karregutta hill located on the border of Chhattisgarh and Telangana. Operation Black Forest lasted for 21 days, in which the soldiers achieved great success by killing 31 Naxalites. To make Karregutta Naxal-free, an anti-Naxal campaign was carried out from 21 April to 11 May. During this, the soldiers destroyed 214 Maoist hideouts and bunkers. 450 IEDs were recovered. 18 Cobra and DRG soldiers were injured in the mega operation against Naxalites in challenging conditions.
