ENCOUNTER ALERT! A uniformed Naxalite neutralized in a fierce face-off with security forces

A uniformed Naxalite was gunned down in an encounter with security forces; an SLR rifle and other items were recovered from the spot.

Gariaband. Anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh are now becoming even more intense and aggressive. An encounter took place between the soldiers and Naxalites during a search operation in the forests of Shobha police station area today. In the encounter, the soldiers killed a uniformed Naxalite. Seeing the soldiers getting overpowered, other Naxalites fled. Many important items including SLR weapons have been recovered from the spot. The killed Naxalite has been identified as DVCM Ayatu alias Yogesh Korsa.

Confirming the encounter, Gariaband SP said that this action took place during the search operation. The Naxalites first opened fire, after which the soldiers took charge and retaliated. At present, the search operation has been intensified in the area and the security forces are on alert mode.
