Negligence in Muktidham Work, Notice Issued to Sub-Engineer

Zone Commissioner Ramesh Jaiswal took action on the instructions of Commissioner Vishwadeep on the irregularities in the upgradation work of Muktidham located in Guru Govind Singh Ward under Nagar Nigam Zone-3 Commissionerate. In this, he issued a notice to the work agency M/s AT Construction and asked to fix the damaged work within 3 days. At the same time, on the negligence in the site inspection of this work, a show cause notice was issued to Deputy Engineer Mrs. Ritu Srivastava and an explanation was sought.

This entire matter is of Gandhi Nagar Muktidham of the ward where the contract for CC drain and other work was given under the upgradation work in the month of November last year. Mr. Jaiswal said that the slope and base work of the drain was found to be of poor quality. Due to this, M/s AT Construction was given a notice and instructed to break the said drain within 3 days and construct the CC drain again as per the prescribed standards. Otherwise, the tender was cancelled and a warning was given to put it in the black list.

According to the Zone Commissioner, this contract was of about 6 lakhs, this work was to be completed within 5 months, which could not be completed in 8 months. The responsibility of this work was given to Deputy Engineer Mrs. Ritu Srivastava. She also showed negligence in her work, for which she was given a show cause notice and directed to give an explanation within 24 hours. On the instructions of the Corporation Commissioner, Zone 3 Commissioner along with Executive Engineer Sushil Godestus and Assistant Engineer Naresh Sahu inspected the site of the upgradation work of Gandhi Nagar Muktidham, in which it was found that the said work is not being done by the contractor as per the prescribed standards. This makes it clear that the site inspection is not done by the Deputy Engineer and the contractor is not under the control of the Deputy Engineer.
