New underbridge to be built at Khamtarai railway crossing

A new underbridge will soon be constructed to provide relief to people from the daily heavy traffic jam at Khamtarai railway crossing in the capital Raipur. The railway administration has approved the construction of the underpass bridge. With the construction of this underpass bridge, hundreds of people including the residents of Shivanandnagar and Srinagar will get relief from the traffic problem.

According to official information, this underbridge will be built near Khamtarai level crossing gate Hotel Paradise. The proposal for construction of the underbridge has been approved by the railway. The process of revised estimate approval for the construction of the underbridge is going on.

School children have to face a lot of problems due to traffic jams, due to which common pedestrians, especially school children, have to face a lot of problems. To get rid of this problem, the need for construction of an underpass or an alternative divert route was being felt for a long time.

It is worth noting that in the year 2016, the railway had approved the construction of Khamtarai underbridge, in which the amount was to be spent by the railway and the Public Works Department, but the Public Works Department did not arrange for the amount. Now the Railways has approved the amount. It is estimated that about 10 crore rupees will be spent on the construction of the proposed underbridge. With the construction of the underbridge, thousands of residents and common people of Shivanandnagar, Srinagar and nearby areas will get a lot of convenience in movement.
