Notice to 2 Medical College Doctors, Reply Sought in 3 Days

Two doctors from the medical college have been served notices, with the administration demanding a reply within three days. The reason for the notice has not been disclosed yet.

The hospital management has considered the death of a diarrhea patient during treatment in the Medicine Department of the Medical College Hospital as serious negligence. In this case, a show-cause notice has been issued to senior resident doctor Chetan Lal Sahu and junior resident doctor Parag Meshram on July 28 and an explanation has been sought within three days. If a satisfactory answer is not received, strict disciplinary action will be taken against both the doctors. 18-year-old Hemlata, daughter of Hemulal Sinha, resident of Karamtara in Ambagarh Chowki area, was admitted on the night of July 16 at around 11 pm. According to the information received from the Medical College Hospital, the girl was suffering from vomiting, diarrhea, stomach ache and low blood pressure.

On-duty intern doctor Dhaneshwari Bariha and doctor Isha Sahu started treatment immediately. In this entire case, on-duty intern doctors have given written information, which mentions that due to the concerned doctors not seeing the patient, the patient did not get proper medical benefits on time. Doctors have not recorded any clinical notes in the patient's case ticket, which the management has termed as a breach of duty
