For the convenience of passengers, a sanitary napkin machine has been installed at the railway station. Women can get pads from this machine for just ₹5. This machine installed near the 2nd class waiting hall was inaugurated today by President SECRO Shikha Singh, other officials of SECRO were also present with her.
During this, she made the cleaning staff, TTE and passengers working at Raipur Railway Station aware of this. A separate packed dustbin has also been kept to dispose of the used pads.
She also made the cleaning staff aware about how the pad will come out of this machine. After this, she reached platform 1A. Where she heard the problems of women passengers in Raipur-Durg passenger train. After this, she also took information from the female TTE and female RPF staff present there about the problems faced during their work at the railway station.
The female TTE told the SECRO president that there is no separate washroom for women TTE, due to which they have to face problems. SECRO President also asked them about lockers to keep their belongings. However, the TTEs said that they do not need lockers at the moment, but if the demand for washrooms is fulfilled, then a large number of working women TTEs will get a lot of relief.
