Now Parent-Teacher Meetings to Be Held in Government Schools Too

In a major step towards improving education quality and student performance, the government has announced the implementation of regular Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) in all government schools. This initiative aims to strengthen communication between teachers and parents and ensure better academic support for students.
On the lines of private schools, parent-teacher meetings will also be organized in government schools. In this, other topics including the academic progress of children will be discussed. The first meeting will be held in the first week of August. Regarding the parent-teacher meeting, the School Education Secretary has given necessary guidelines to all the collectors, divisional joint directors and district education officers. With the aim of establishing better communication with parents, making them aware of the progress of children and assessing the future prospects of children and coordinating with parents, the government has decided to conduct parent-teacher meetings regularly.
The department believes that the role of parents can be important in preventing drop out in accordance with the National Education Policy. The first parent-teacher meeting will be held in the first week of August. In this, information about the progress of children's studies will be given to the parents. At the same time, parents will also be able to give their suggestions regarding study and teaching. In the meeting, information will be provided about creating a study environment at home, parents should be informed daily about what the child studied in school, health test and nutrition according to the age and class of the children.
