Pakistani Drugs Flood Raipur: Narcotics Worth ₹1 Crore Consumed in 3 Months

Raipur is witnessing a surge in drug abuse, with Pakistani-sourced narcotics worth nearly ₹1 crore consumed within just three months, raising serious concerns for law enforcement.

Two more peddlers associated with the drug supply syndicate busted in Kamal Vihar have been arrested from Mominpara and Gogaon-Gudhiyari. In fifteen days, 22 people have been arrested including international smuggler Lovejit Singh of Punjab with links to Pakistan and syndicate chief Suvit Srivastava Rajnandgaon, close driver Ashwan Chandravanshi. The accused made the youth living in different areas of Raipur addicted to drugs and made them peddlers for drug supply. More than 300 drug addicts who came in contact with the syndicate for drugs are under investigation. The investigation so far has revealed the sale of drugs worth 1 crore by the syndicate in three months. While 450 grams of heroin chitta was recovered from the possession of the accused, the price of which is also said to be 1 crore.

Suspicion of supply in other districts
It has been revealed that the supply syndicate had spread its network in the entire capital. The police is finding out whether the syndicate has supplied drugs in other districts of Chhattisgarh and other states as well. Although many of the arrested accused are natives of Gondia, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, they say they come to Raipur for work or studies. In such a situation, there is a possibility of the supply chain being connected to other districts and states as well.

Drug addicts connected to the syndicate in every ward

Two mobile phones, an ATM card and a passbook have been seized from the possession of Pradeep Gendre, 31 years, son of Devlal Gendre, resident of Gogaon Gudhiyari and Farhan Raza, 33 years, son of Shahid Raza, resident of Mominpara Azad Chowk. The police claimed that the money from the sale of drugs has been transferred to the accounts of both the accused. These accused themselves are addicts of heroin and chitta. They had created many supply chains and the drug addicts were connected to them through WhatsApp groups and they used to take orders from here.

Syndicate was formed according to the area
During interrogation, drug peddlers residing in Avanti Vihar, Shankarnagar, Telibandha Shyamnagar, Mahavirnagar, Rajendranagar, Tatibandh Udaya Society, Hirapur, Kabirnagar, Purani Basti, Sarona, Vidhan Sabha, Khamtarai, Birgaon have been arrested.
