Pendra Road-Katni Fourth Rail Line Approved, Bilaspur Third Line Expansion

The Union Cabinet has approved major railway expansion projects in Chhattisgarh, including a fourth rail line between Pendra Road and Katni and a third line between Pendra Road and Bilaspur. The projects are expected to reduce train congestion, improve punctuality and strengthen freight movement.

Passengers travelling on the busy Bilaspur–Katni railway route are set to get relief as the Union Cabinet has approved expansion of railway infrastructure in the region.Under the approved projects, a fourth railway line will be developed between Pendra Road and Katni, while a third railway line will be constructed between Pendra Road and Bilaspur.The decision is expected to increase rail capacity and improve the movement of both passenger and freight trains on one of central India’s important railway corridors.
