Permit Rules Violated: Notices Issued to 22 Buses for Irregular Operations
Raipur,C.G
Authorities have issued notices to 22 buses found operating in violation of permit conditions. Action is being taken to ensure compliance with transport regulations and passenger safety.
The Transport Department has issued notices to 22 bus operators who were operating buses in violation of tourist permit norms. Similarly, operators have been instructed to renew the regular permits of more than 600 buses out of 1100 in the state.
Action will be taken against bus operators who do not renew their permits and do not give a satisfactory reply to the notice. According to sources, in an investigation conducted a week ago, the maximum irregularities were found in the operation of 17 tourist permit buses in Raipur. Notices were issued after violation of permit norms were found in the investigation conducted by flying squads. In other districts also, five vehicles were found running in violation of rules and regulations under the guise of tourist permit.
Bus operators charging arbitrary fares
In the investigation, it was found that when a bus is booked for a group, passenger transportation has to be done by taking a tourist permit. If a group has to go from Raipur to Allahabad, then after its booking, the bus operator will inform the Transport Department about it and get a tourist permit issued. In which the date of departure and arrival will be written. But these days many bus operators are charging arbitrary fares by booking seats with tourist permits. Most of the buses for other states are being operated on tourist permits.
Taking advantage of lack of regular inspection and strictness
There is a complaint that due to lack of regular inspection and effective action by the Transport Department, some special operators are evading taxes under the guise of tourist permits. Common passengers are also being charged higher fares. Sources say that legal action is possible in the case of tax evasion, tax evasion, causing damage to the government as well as fraud.
