PMO IAS Officer Pulls Up Bank Representatives Over Loan Issues in PM Surya Ghar Yojana

Amid complaints of difficulties in availing loans under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, an IAS officer from the Prime Minister’s Office reprimanded bank representatives for delays and procedural hurdles.

There is a delay in the loan process for installing solar rooftops in homes under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana. Doctor IAS Pooja Jain from the Prime Minister's Office has expressed displeasure over this. She directed the bank representatives to simplify the loan process and provide loans with minimum required documents.

Pooja Jain (IAS) from the Prime Minister's Office reviewed the PM Surya Ghar Yojana in Chhattisgarh by holding a meeting with departmental officials, representatives of various banks and vendors at Vidyut Seva Bhavan in Dangania. Expressing concern over the cancellation of cases after loan approval and delay in loan disbursement, she directed the bank representatives to discuss with the consumers about the loan period under the scheme and the EMI payable by the consumers and give them complete information so that the loan applications of the consumers are not rejected due to lack of information. He directed to bring uniformity in the loan process adopted by various banks for setting up solar rooftop plants and to provide loans with minimum required documentation. In the meeting, the vendors were informed about the difficulties being faced in the scheme.

The officer gave necessary instructions to overcome these difficulties and also advised that CSPDCL, bankers and vendors should immediately resolve the problems being faced in the work of setting up solar rooftop plants so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated time frame. Distribution company MD Bhim Singh Kanwar, Director R.A. Pathak, Executive Director S.K. Gajpal and other officials were present in the meeting.
