Dhamtari district has received national recognition for the effective and innovative implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana (PM Janman).
For this achievement, President of India Droupadi Murmu honored Collector Abinash Mishra at a national ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Under this scheme, the district ensured the reach of government initiatives to the village level, timely identification of eligible beneficiaries, and remarkable efforts toward socio-economic empowerment. Through community-based participation and technological innovations, Dhamtari transformed the scheme into a mass movement.
Earlier, during the Collectors’ Conference, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai had also appreciated the district’s work, describing it as an inspiration for other districts. This national honor also acknowledges the collective efforts of the district administration, public representatives, and citizens.
Notably, in Masandbara, a dependent village of Sankara Gram Panchayat in Nagari development block, permanent houses are being constructed for the backward Kamar tribe under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana. This is the second PM Janman housing colony in the country and the first in Chhattisgarh, built exclusively for the Kamar community.
According to departmental officials, a total of 1,481 houses have been sanctioned, out of which 982 have already been completed.
Dhamtari district’s achievement is being regarded as a model of administrative efficiency and transparent implementation of the scheme.
