The security system in the Central Jail of the judicial capital Bilaspur was exposed. Raja Gond, a prisoner lodged in a theft case, defied the security arrangements and escaped from the 22 feet high wall of the Central Jail. After this incident, there was a stir in the jail administration. Surprisingly, even the electric wall of the jail could not stop him. However, after a few hours, the prisoner was caught from Sarkanda and was again locked in jail.
According to the information, Raja Gond, the accused arrested in the theft case from village Gataura of Masturi police station area, is lodged in Central Jail. On the evening of June 8, the prisoner escaped by jumping over the 22 feet wall of the jail without letting the guard know. An acquaintance of his informed about the incident by calling on number 112, after which the police came into action and the accused was caught from Sarkanda area.
The prisoner was again admitted to the Central Jail late at night. The incident has raised many questions on the security measures of the jail, investigation of the matter is going on.
