Raipur: Retired Food Officer Accused of Rape and Blackmail by 23-Year-Old Woman

A 23-year-old woman from Raipur’s Arang area has accused retired Chhattisgarh Food Department officer Sanjay Dubey of rape, blackmail, and extortion. Police have registered an FIR based on her complaint and begun an investigation.
According to the complaint, the accused befriended the woman on Facebook and later visited her house, where he allegedly raped her. The woman claimed that Dubey took her nude photos and videos, using them to blackmail her for ₹3 lakh. She also submitted Facebook chat screenshots to the police as supporting evidence.

The woman stated that she came into contact with Dubey around 2018–19 through Facebook. Over time, he gained her trust and developed a close relationship. In 2021, he allegedly visited her home in Arang and committed the assault.

The survivor told police that Dubey frequently made obscene comments and pressured her to marry him, claiming he would divorce his wife. When she refused, he allegedly threatened to release her private photos and videos unless she paid him ₹3 lakh.

Arang police have seized digital evidence, including chat records, and are verifying the authenticity of the material. Investigators are also tracing the accused’s current location and movements.
