Rs 3.5 Lakh Stolen from Assistant Bank Manager’s Home in Bilaspur

Bilaspur police are investigating a burglary at the residence of an assistant manager of Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank, where valuables worth around Rs 3.5 lakh were stolen. The incident occurred in the Civil Line police station area while the family was away attending a wedding.
According to reports, Vinod Pathak, who lives in Nand Vihar Colony near Real Heavens behind Mangla Chowk, had gone with his family on the morning of November 23 to attend his nephew’s wedding in Sakri. The house was locked at the time. When they returned on November 24 around 2 pm, they found the main door lock broken and discovered that cash and jewellery had been stolen from the cupboard.
Police said the thieves entered the house via the roof. They cut open a door on the terrace, unlocked the interior latch, and used the staircase to access the lower floors. Another door inside the house was also found tampered with.

The stolen items included:

Rs 1.5 lakh in cash

Two gold earrings, one gold chain, a pair of gold tops, two gold rings

Silver items including two plates, four bowls, one glass, one platter, a lota, spoons, an anklet, and a kada

Approximately 50 silver coins
Police suspect that the thieves had conducted prior reconnaissance of the vacant house before committing the burglary. Neighbours reportedly did not notice any suspicious activity. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the suspects.
The Civil Line police have registered a case and are actively investigating the incident, examining all possible leads to apprehend the culprits.
