A sensational incident unfolded in Durg city, Chhattisgarh, on Thursday morning when a blood-soaked body was discovered in Indira Market, creating panic in the area. Deep injuries were found on the victim’s head. The police have taken the body into custody for post-mortem and launched an investigation.

Shopkeepers Alert Police in the Morning
According to reports, around 5 am, vegetable vendors at Indira Market saw the bloodied body and immediately informed the Kotwali police. Upon receiving the information, Station House Officer (SHO) Netam, along with his team and forensic experts, reached the scene. The police cordoned off the area, collected evidence, documented the body, and sent it to the hospital.

Victim Worked as a Laborer, Lived in the Market
The deceased has been identified as Naresh Thakur (40), a resident of Rajiv Nagar, Durg. Naresh worked as a laborer in the Indira Market vegetable mandi and often slept there at night. His parents had passed away, and his brother lives separately with his family.

Suffered from Illness and Addiction
SHO Netam said that inquiries with locals revealed Naresh suffered from epilepsy and was addicted to substances. The initial investigation suggests the death may have been accidental, though the possibility of murder cannot be ruled out.

Police Reviewing CCTV Footage
Police are now reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to trace Naresh’s activities before his death and identify any suspicious individuals. The actual cause of death will be determined after the forensic report and post-mortem results are available.

Panic in the Area
Following the incident, vendors and local residents in Indira Market are in a state of shock. Discussions are ongoing about whether the death was the result of a dispute or an accident. Police are investigating all angles of the case.
