Syed Rahim Adnan, a second-year ECE student, was arrested for using artificial intelligence apps to alter images of 36 boys and girls, turning innocent group photos into explicit content. Police recovered over 1,000 edited images from his laptop, with the accused confessing he did it for personal "pleasure."
The horror unfolded when a fellow student spotted the images on Rahim's device and alerted others. Female victims, upon seeing their AI-generated explicit photos, broke down in tears, with many deleting social media accounts out of fear of virality.
