Six Robbers Arrested in Balodabazar: Stolen Goods Worth ₹1 Lakh Recovered, Six Cases Solved

Balodabazar police have apprehended six suspects involved in theft and robbery in the Hathband police station area. Recovered from the accused were stolen items worth ₹1 lakh, including gas cylinders, motor pumps, and wires. A motorcycle used in the crimes was also seized.
The investigation gained momentum after an incident on the night of 24 November, when unknown assailants attacked cloth merchant Suresh Kumar Bidhani near Gayatri Temple in Hathband village, stealing ₹7,000. An FIR was registered, and the police began a detailed inquiry.
Breakthrough Through CCTV and Intel
Police analyzed CCTV footage from the crime scene and gathered confidential intelligence, which led to the arrest of suspect Prem Samvara, alias Sheru. During interrogation, he admitted to the robbery and revealed involvement in five other theft incidents in the Hathband area.
Planned and Organized Crimes
The police stated that the gang operated systematically, conducting reconnaissance of houses and shops before striking. They would execute the theft and immediately flee the scene.
Accused Taken into Custody
The arrested suspects include Prem Samvara alias Feru (21), Kartik alias Botadi (19), Ashok Samvara (29), Suraj Pal (21), Deepak Kumar Nishad (34), and Mahetaru Sen (58), all residents of Hathband and nearby areas. The accused were formally presented in court and sent to judicial custody.
