Son-in-law slashes father-in-law and two cats with a saw; stopped from beating daughter

A shocking incident has come to light from Sarangadh-Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. A son-in-law killed his father-in-law and two innocent cats by slashing them with a saw. Before the incident, he had assaulted his wife, and when the father-in-law tried to stop him, this horrific situation unfolded. The accused has been arrested by the police.
What exactly happened?
According to the information, the deceased Ram Gilas Khunte (61) was a resident of Lukapara village. The accused Om Prakash Jangde (34) was married to Rekha Bai from the same village 17 years ago, and they have three children.
On the night of June 1, around 8:30 PM, due to a family dispute, the accused assaulted his wife. The children informed their maternal grandfather Ram Gilas about this. Ram Gilas came out to protect his daughter, but the intoxicated and angry son-in-law turned violent.
Killer attack under the influence of alcohol
The accused, drunk, entered the in-laws’ house with a saw-like sharp weapon. He abused outside the house and, when Ram Gilas came out, attacked him with the saw. The father-in-law suffered deep wounds on his face and died on the spot.
Terror unleashed on innocent cats too
After killing his father-in-law, the accused’s anger did not subside; he also slashed two innocent cats nearby with the saw. After this, he fled the scene.
Police arrested the accused
On receiving information from neighbors, the police reached the spot. The body was sent for postmortem. The accused was found hiding in the village and was arrested and presented in court. The court sent him to jail.
Information from Sarangadh Police
Bilaspur SDOP Vijay Thakur stated that the accused has confessed to the crime. The weapon used in the incident has also been recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
