Raipur,C.G
Chhattisgarh’s first mechanized car parking facility has been set up at Raipur’s Pandri Cloth Market, aiming to ease traffic congestion and improve parking convenience in the busy commercial area.
Chhattisgarh's first mechanized car parking will start in Mahalaxmi cloth market located in Pandri of the capital. As soon as this system starts, a non-motorized transport project will be implemented to stop vehicles going inside the market and promote e-carts there. On June 19, MLA Purandar Mishra and Mayor Mrs. Meenal Chaubey and Chairman Suryakant Rathod performed Bhoomi Pujan by marking a place right in front of Sindhi Girls College adjacent to the market for packaged hydraulic parking. It will take at least three months to be built. Apart from Pandri cloth market, similar facilities are also being developed right next to the Municipal Corporation Headquarters building, where an e-charging station has been built.
With the start of this mechanized parking and non-motorized transport project, common citizens will not have to struggle to park their vehicles in the market. The businessmen of Mahalaxmi cloth market have taken the responsibility of operating this mechanized parking. According to sources, a three-storey steel structure system will be built here for parking 24 cars. Cars will be parked on the upper floor using a hydraulic system. Rs 70 lakh will be spent on this.
