Swadeshi Sankalp Run Organized in Raipur to Mark Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

To commemorate the 163rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and celebrate National Youth Day, Raipur witnessed the Swadeshi Sankalp Run, aimed at promoting patriotism, self-reliance, and positive thinking among young citizens. The run commenced at Subhash Stadium and concluded at Swami Vivekananda Sarovar, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, citizens, and local officials.

The event was inaugurated by Higher Education and Revenue Minister Tankram Verma, who addressed the participants, emphasizing the importance of education coupled with values. “Swami Vivekananda inspired youth with the ideals of confidence and character building. Education should not be limited to earning degrees; it should shape responsible and principled citizens,” Verma said.

Highlighting the role of youth in national development, the minister noted that India is currently in its “Amrit Kaal,” with a significant proportion of the population comprising young people. “The determination to make India a developed nation by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be realized through the energy and commitment of our youth,” he added.

The run also saw participation from Anuj Sharma, local MLA, and senior officials, along with a large turnout of students and citizens. State Youth Commission Chairman Vishw Vijay Singh Tomar encouraged participants to embrace fearlessness and self-reliance as essential qualities for contributing to society. Minister Verma flagged off the run, motivating young participants to pledge allegiance to Swadeshi ideals.

The Swadeshi Sankalp Run is part of a broader initiative to instill nationalistic values, civic responsibility, and a culture of self-sufficiency among youth. By promoting physical fitness alongside ideological awareness, organizers aim to foster a generation that is socially conscious, proactive, and committed to India’s growth.

Officials noted that such programs not only celebrate historical and cultural icons like Swami Vivekananda but also serve as a platform to reinforce the significance of discipline, dedication, and community engagement in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

With sustained efforts by the state government under Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Chhattisgarh continues to focus on youth development, encouraging initiatives that combine education, culture, and national pride.
