Temperature Drops Across Chhattisgarh, Nights Turn Cooler as Winter Sets In
Digital Desk
The weather in Chhattisgarh has begun to shift, with temperatures dipping steadily and a distinct chill setting in during the night. As cloud cover has cleared over the past few days, the air has turned drier, leading to a noticeable fall in minimum temperatures across several districts. Residents are beginning to feel the onset of winter, especially during late evenings and early mornings.
Meteorologists from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that humidity levels will continue to drop in the coming days, allowing colder winds from the north to dominate. The influence of these winds is expected to increase gradually, making nights even cooler through the week.
Temperature readings across the state
The lowest temperature was recorded in Ambikapur at around 16°C, indicating a sharp change in northern Chhattisgarh’s weather. Meanwhile, Durg, Mana, and Rajnandgaon saw the highest daytime temperatures, averaging 32.8°C.
In regions like Ambikapur and Pendra, the chill was more pronounced. Despite bright sunshine during the day, cool winds began to flow in by evening, adding to the winter feel.
Weather outlook for Raipur
In the capital city, Raipur, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy on Tuesday. The IMD forecast predicts a minimum temperature of 22°C and a maximum of around 32°C. Mornings and evenings will remain pleasantly cool, while daytime heat will persist under clear skies.
Meteorologists say this gradual dip signals the early phase of winter across central India. As dry air replaces post-monsoon humidity, Chhattisgarh is likely to see a further drop in temperature over the next several days.
