Three-Day Workshop Begins in Capital to Empower 'Lakhpati Didis'

A three-day workshop aimed at empowering women under the 'Lakhpati Didi' initiative begins today in the state capital. The program will focus on skill development, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy to help rural women become economically self-reliant.
The Union Rural Development Ministry will organize a national level regional workshop in the capital towards creating Lakhpati Didi. Lakhpati Mahila Pehal workshop will be organized from 9 to 11 July under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Mission. Senior officials, mission directors, livelihood experts, representatives of self-help groups and other related stakeholders from 11 states of the country will participate in it. The inauguration will be held in the presence of TK Anil, Additional Secretary, Union Rural Development Ministry, Niharika Barik, Principal Secretary, Chhattisgarh Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Swati Sharma, Joint Secretary, Central Government and Bhim Singh, Secretary, State Government.
The Central Government has set a target of preparing 3 crore Lakhpati Didi in the country. In this context, there will be detailed discussion on rural livelihood opportunities, social and financial inclusion, skill development, market availability, value chain creation and strategies based on modern technologies. Participants from Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, Odisha, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh will participate in it. In the workshop, Secretary of the Union Rural Development Ministry Shailesh Kumar Singh and Secretary of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises SCL Das will guide through video conferencing. In various sessions of the workshop, there will be in-depth discussion on the topics of use of local resources, women training, financial inclusion and business promotion. At the same time, an exhibition of materials produced by self-help groups formed under the Livelihood Mission will also be held. So that their products can get a better market. According to Jayshree Jain, Director of Chhattisgarh State Rural Livelihood Mission, all preparations for the workshop have been completed. This workshop will also become the basis for solid strategies for the future.
