Three Naxalites with ₹37 Lakh Bounty Killed in Encounter

RKB Central Committee Secretary Vijay Reddy and Divisional Committee member Lokesh Salame were among three Naxalites killed in an encounter.

Security forces in Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand killed three rewarded Maoists in a joint operation. RKB Division Central Committee Secretary Vijay Reddy (reward ₹25 lakh) and Divisional Committee Member Lokesh Salame (reward ₹10 lakh) were killed in an encounter on Manda hill on the Kanker-Bastar border. Meanwhile, Maoist organization's area commander Arun Karki (reward ₹2 lakh) was killed in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district.

On the other hand, on the basis of secret information received in Chaibasa, Cobra 209 Battalion and local police launched an operation and killed Arun Karki. An SLR was recovered from him. Police say that he was planning a violent incident on Independence Day. Superintendent of Police YP Singh confirmed the encounter and said that the search operation is still going on in the area.

The bodies of the two Naxalites killed in Chhattisgarh reached Mohla late at night, where their post-mortem will be conducted, after which the government will probably hold an official press conference to share full details about the entire operation.
