On 17 June afternoon, 60 members of the Corporation Contractors Association opened a front against the delay in payment of work agencies and the practice of files vanishing in the Nagar Nigam. It was told that due to the files going through 20 tables for payment of dues, the work that can be done in two days takes 15 days to one month.
The president of the association told that the corporation has stopped the payment of about 30 crore rupees of the contractors, it is said that there is no fund here. At the same time, the state government officials are talking about releasing sufficient funds to Raipur Corporation. Angered by the difference in the statements of both, the contractors reached the corporation headquarters on 17 June afternoon and handed over a memorandum to Commissioner Shri Vishwadeep after informing him about the situation. Due to the delay in payment, the toy train project being run for children in Naraiya pond has also been put on hold.
This bhumi pujan was done by MP Brijmohan Agarwal and MLA Sunil Soni before the elections. Officials of Zone 6 said that the working agency of this entire project worked for three months without any funding from the corporation, and now due to the continuous delay in its payment, they have also stopped working. The contractors also drew the attention of the commissioner to the delay in preparing the bills after the completion of the work. Here the sub-engineers are never able to prepare the bills on time. On preparing the bills late, the amount is deducted from the contractor's bills by writing delay in work.
