Employees of Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya expressed outrage over a controversial remark made by the Vice Chancellor and staged a protest outside the Collector’s office demanding action.
Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya is once again in the midst of controversies. This time the 'controversial statement' of the university's Vice Chancellor Dr. Lovely Sharma created such a ruckus that on Wednesday hundreds of employees reached the Collector's office and heated up the atmosphere by sloganeering.
The employees' union alleges that the Vice Chancellor has insulted the hardworking and laborious image of the entire Chhattisgarh by calling the employees 'uncivilized' in his statement. The angry employees not only raised slogans but also clearly said that the phased agitation will continue until the government cancels the appointment of the Vice Chancellor.
This is not the first time that the bugle of rebellion has been blown against the Vice Chancellor in the university. In the last five years, the university has been an arena for controversies and agitations. Earlier, a long agitation was carried out during the tenure of former Vice Chancellor Mamta Chandrakar, after which the Raj Bhavan issued an order to remove her from the post.
Dr. Lovely Sharma, who was appointed after her, was also opposed by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad with slogans of 'Lovely Sharma Go Back' and anti-slogans written on the walls. ABVP workers created pressure by protesting at the gate throughout the night, but after some time the ABVP agitation cooled down under government pressure.
