Youth Shot for Opposing Illegal Sand Mining, Villagers Confront Police

A youth was shot by sand mafia members for protesting illegal sand mining activities. Angry villagers surrounded the police team in response, demanding justice.

 
 

The sand mafia has become so bold that now they are not afraid of openly attacking those who oppose them. The latest case is from Mohar village (ward number 49) of Rajnandgaon, where the mafia shot a youth and beat up two other villagers for opposing illegal sand mining. The bullet passed through the neck of Roshan Mandavi, leaving him seriously injured. He was immediately admitted to the Medical College Hospital. The treatment of the other two injured is also going on.

After the incident, a tense situation has arisen in the village.

The angry villagers stopped the police vehicles and raised slogans and are demanding strict action against sand theft. Police force has been deployed on the spot and efforts are on to control the situation.
