Traffic Man Mahesh Mishra to Be Honored with President’s Medal; You’ll Be Shocked at His Academic Achievements

Lance Naik Mahesh Mishra of Koriya district, known as the “Traffic Man,” has been selected for the prestigious President’s Medal in recognition of his exemplary work in traffic awareness and public service. What’s truly astonishing is that he holds gold medals in postgraduate studies in Sanskrit, Political Science, and Sociology.
Mahesh Mishra, working as a Nayak in the Korea Nagar Sena, will be awarded the President's Medal on 15 August 2025 in Raipur. The medal will be given by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai in the main function of Independence Day. Along with this, the benefit of out of turn promotion will also be available. This year, only one Nayak has been selected for the President's Medal from Chhattisgarh Nagar Sena. He is famous as a traffic man along with duty for the last 18 years.
He has trained more than 500 traffic awareness camps in schools and colleges at his own expense. Also, during this time, he has taught traffic lessons to about 4 lakh common people at the district-division and state level. He does many social works ranging from distributing free glasses to drivers, filling potholes on the road.
He is a gold medalist in Sanskrit, Political Science and Sociology in postgraduate. Currently, he is also a PHD scholar on the subject of Study of Awareness Related to Compliance of Traffic Rules: Special Context of Korea District of Chhattisgarh State. His name has also been registered in the India Book of Records in the year 2022.
