A one and a half year old girl suffering from vomiting and diarrhea was not given a bed in the Community Health Center Manendragarh. She died due to not getting timely treatment.
The girl's family told that he is a resident of Chainpur village of Manendragarh in MCB district. Two days ago, when the girl's health deteriorated, she was taken to the Community Health Center of Manendragarh, where she was given first aid and medicines and sent home. When the girl's health deteriorated further, the family brought her again to the Community Health Center Manendragarh for admission, where the doctor said that there is no empty bed here. The girl cannot be admitted, whereas the girl's condition was very bad.
Seeing the condition of the girl, the family brought the girl to the District Hospital Baikunthpur 55 km away by bus the next day, by then the girl had died. The shameful thing is that the district from where the sick girl was brought is the home district of Chhattisgarh's Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal. If there is no bed available to admit the sick girl in his home district, then one can imagine what kind of arrangement would be there in other districts. If there was no bed, then the Community Health Center manager should have referred the girl to the district hospital by ambulance. The girl died due to the negligence of the CHC management.
