Tragic road accident in Kawardha:Three killed, including a woman, after being hit by unidentified vehicle

A horrific road accident late Thursday night in Pandariya police station area of Kawardha district claimed the lives of three people, including a woman. The accident occurred when the victims were returning home on a motorcycle.

Amid rain and darkness, an unidentified vehicle suddenly rammed into their bike with great force. The impact was so severe that all three, including the woman, died on the spot.

Driver fled after the crash

According to locals, the vehicle driver did not stop after the collision and fled, taking advantage of the darkness. The victims’ bodies were left scattered on the road. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.

Bodies lay on the road for an hour

Eyewitnesses said the bodies remained on the road for nearly an hour after the accident. Residents informed the Pandariya police, who then reached the site, collected evidence, and transported the bodies to the hospital.

Victims identified

The deceased were identified as Panchram Baiga (48) of Saigona village, Premlal Baiga (35) of Bakela, and Cheeni Baiga (30). All three had traveled to Pandariya for work and were returning home when the tragedy occurred.

Police investigation underway

Pandariya Police Station In-charge Nitin Tiwari said efforts are ongoing to trace the unidentified vehicle using the evidence gathered from the scene and nearby CCTV footage. Initial investigation suggests heavy rain and poor visibility were major factors behind the accident.

Village in mourning

After learning of the incident, family members and villagers rushed to the spot. Grief-stricken relatives wept inconsolably, and a wave of mourning spread throughout the village.
