Uproar at GGU Over Student’s Suspicious Death: Protesters Climb Gate, Clash Between NSUI and Police

At Guru Ghasidas Central University (GGU) in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, NSUI workers and Congress-affiliated leaders took to the streets on Tuesday afternoon to protest the suspicious death of student Arslan Ansari and alleged irregularities on campus. Police tried to stop the demonstrators at the university gate, but students climbed the gate, leading to a violent clash between NSUI workers and the police.

Tight security arrangements before the protest
Anticipating the demonstration, police had set up barricades and deployed personnel at the main entrance of GGU since morning. As the crowd of students and NSUI workers grew, protesters began shouting slogans. Led by NSUI leader Tanmeet Chhabra, students and workers raised slogans such as “Give justice, give answers” while creating a commotion.

Demand for action over the student’s death
Students alleged that Arslan Ansari’s death occurred under suspicious circumstances, but the university administration has neither provided clear information nor conducted a transparent investigation.

Clash between police and protesters
The situation became tense during the protest when police tried to control the crowd at the gate. Protesters climbed the gate and raised slogans against the administration. This escalated into a violent scuffle between the police and the demonstrators, further intensifying the already charged atmosphere.
