Weather Update: Rain and Thunderstorms Likely in Chhattisgarh

Raipur. The mood of the weather has changed once again in Chhattisgarh. On Monday, many areas of the state received rain accompanied by strong winds. There is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and rain in various parts of the state even today. At the same time, there is a possibility of drizzle with thunderstorms in some areas. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of a period of increase in temperature.

According to meteorologist HP Chandra, western disturbances and various troughs are responsible for the change in weather. A cyclonic circulation extends from central Pakistan to Punjab and north-west Rajasthan at a height of 3.1 to 7.6 km. At the same time, an east-west trough extends from eastern Rajasthan to north Bangladesh at a height of 1.5 km. Along with this, a north-south trough is active from south-east Madhya Pradesh to Karnataka at a height of 0.9 km. Due to these weather systems, the weather in the state is currently pleasant, although a gradual increase in temperature is also expected.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of thunderstorms with lightning and rain in 21 districts of the state. In the next 3 hours, an alert has been issued in Balod, Balodabazar, Bastar, Bemetara, Bijapur, Bilaspur, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Durg, Gariaband, Janjgir-Champa, Kanker, Kondagaon, Mahasamund, Narayanpur, Raigarh, Raipur, Sakti, Sarangarh Bilaigarh, Sukma.

Light to moderate rainfall was recorded at one or two places in the last 24 hours. The highest maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Raipur, while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Pendra Road.
